NBC, Bain, Blackstone Consortium buys Weather Channel for $3.2bn

A consortium of Bain Capital, Blackstone and NBC Universal has acquired The Weather Channel for about $3.2bn, beating Time Warner in a private auction after Landmark Communications put The Weather Channel and some other media properties up for sale.
