Elastra raises $12m from VCs and Amazon for Cloud Computing

Elastra, which provides software for configuring, deploying and managing complete application systems in public and private compute clouds, has raised $12 million in Series B financing. The funding was led by Bay Partners, with new participation from Amazon.com and continued participation from Hummer Winblad Venture Partners. Elastra will use the money to accelerate customer growth and enhance its software for public and private cloud computing.

BT acquires classified ad directory Ufindus for £20m

BT is finally moving back into the online classifieds space by acquiring the classifieds website site Ufindus for £20m in cash. BT lost its monopoly over 192 directory inquiries when Oftel deregulated the UK telecoms market in 2000, enabling new brands to combine new online and phone listings. More »
