The collection, 'packaging' and delivery of news content has been dramatically altered by the advent of digital technology and services. Key changes include: different modes and formats of collection, aggregation and delivery; news as a 'participatory conversation' rather than a lecture, highlighted by the emergence of news blogs; the emergence of user-generated news content; and the consequential issue of trust and 'editorial voice'.
In spite of increasing consumption, the challenge of monetising online video content still remains as evidenced by the experience of YouTube and Hulu.

Yahoo's trademark yodel is finally and officially its own in India. The Indian trademarks office has granted India's first 'sound mark' to Yahoo's three-note Yahoo yodel. This will prevent other companies or individuals in India using the yodel, which is essentially a long-drawn Yahoo.

Guardian News & Media is expanding its US presence with the acquisition of ContentNext Media, the B2B media company which covers digital media, the entertainment and technology sectors, and publishes the online service paidContent.org. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
