The collection, 'packaging' and delivery of news content has been dramatically altered by the advent of digital technology and services. Key changes include: different modes and formats of collection, aggregation and delivery; news as a 'participatory conversation' rather than a lecture, highlighted by the emergence of news blogs; the emergence of user-generated news content; and the consequential issue of trust and 'editorial voice'.
In spite of increasing consumption, the challenge of monetising online video content still remains as evidenced by the experience of YouTube and Hulu.

Adify the white-label online ad network, has been acquired by Cox Enterprises, for about $300 million, in an all-cash deal. Adify which was founded in 2005, had raised a total of $27 million in development funding and made about $7 million in revenues in 2007.
