Internet subscriber numbers have grown dramatically in India and China over the past five years. In China, there were over 150 million internet users in 2007, over a third of these with Broadband access. In contrast, India had around 50 million internet subscribers with very little broadband penetration. Internet penetration in China in 2007 was over 12% compared to around 4% in India. These numbers are set to continue their explosive growth in 2008.
